Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr has hinted that he’ll be tinkering with a 4-4-2 formation when his side meets with Ukraine in an international friendly scheduled for September 10.
Just like his predecessors, talk about the likes of late Stephen Keshi and AmoduShuibu, Rohr has been stuck to the use of the 4-3-3 formation in almost every Super Eagles match.
At the last Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, the German tactician deployed only the 4-3-3 system in all the six games played at the tournament.
But Rohr in a telephone conversation with GoalBall revealed that the 4-4-2 system which former Super Eagles technical adviser, Clemens Westerhoff used in his time, is going to be deployed against Ukraine.
“This won’t be the first timeI’ll be adjusting fromthe4-3-3 formation. Recall that I used the 3-5-2 formation sometimes too.
“I am hoping those two formations and try something new against Ukraine – probably the 4-4-2., the Super Eagles coach revealed.
