Francis Uzoho’s Elche took on Cadiz in a Segunda División clash at Estadio Ramón de Carranza on Sunday afternoon.
Cadiz humiliated Elche 5-1 with Uzoho conceding five goals in a single game for the first time in his career and this also includes the national teams.
Uzoho had entered the history books as the youngest ever foreign goalkeeper to debut in La Liga a year ago, but he has also now set a negative record by becoming the first Nigerian goalkeeper to concede five goals in the Spanish second-tier.
Sory Kaba had given the Super Eagles goalkeeper a dream start after opening the scoring in the 9th minute but the home team netted five goals in the space of 25 minutes in the second half to claim their third win of the season.
Elche have officially reported that Uzoho was forced to leave the pitch on a stretcher after suffering a concussion.
The Super Eagles goalie was subjected to medical tests at the San Rafael Clinic in Cádiz after suffering a heavy blow to the ribs and initial results suggest that he has not suffered a bone-related injury but has to undergo further tests in Elche on Monday.
Uzoho is not likely to be in goal for Elche's next league match against Las Palmas on November 10 as well as for the Super Eagles in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Bafana Bafana the following weekend.
Who could Rohr replace Uzoho with? Could he probably use Robin Udegbe who says he is ready to disposes Uzoho of the number one shirt?

Good for him. At least now there will be chance for some other goalkeeper to show us what he can do.
