Victor Osimhen’s Brace Help Napoli Crush Sampdoria 4-0

Napoli star Victor Osimhen scored two goals and a third nullified as offside when Luciano Spalletti’s side crushed Sampdoria 4-0 yesterday to regain the top spot of the Italian Serie A.

The maximum three points from the victory lifted Gli Azzurri to 15 points, two above the Serie A champions Inter Milan and AC Milan who are tied on 13 points with the former having superior goals difference of 13.

Osimhen appears to have regained the mojo that made the Italian club shell out $72million for his signature from Lille.

The Super Eagles forward has scored three goals in his last two games in the Italian top-flight.

Osimhen now have five goals in his last three games in all competitions.

A fair call denied the Nigerian international a hat trick in the clash with Sampdoria as one of his goals was adjudged to have been scored from an offside position.

In the other Serie A game for the evening, Ola Aina was in action for Torino in their 1-1 home draw against Lazio.

He played for only 62 minutes before he was subbed. Torino are 10th on the log with just seven points from a possible 15.
