Wayne Rooney set to Wrap up Major League Soccer switch

According to a report, Wayne Rooney will officially become a DC United player by the end of Thursday.

The Everton attacker is due to arrive in Washington later today to complete the formalities, ending his 16-year stay in the Premier League.

Sky Sports News claims that the 32-year-old will sign a three-and-a-half year contract, potentially seeing him through to the end of his playing career.

The ex-England international already has a visa and work permit and could start training with his new teammates later this week, but Rooney cannot make his debut until after the MLS transfer window opens on July 10.

DC United are expected to put up a press conference next Monday to unveil marquee signing Rooney.
