Former Nigerian defender, Taribo West has advised former Super Eagles midfielder, Mikel Obi not to be aggrieved with the treatment been meted on him by his Turkish club, Trabzonspor.
Recall that on Wednesday, Mikel left Trabzonspor by mutual consent, days after expressing his concerns about the Turkish Super Lig continuing amid the global coronavirus pandemic.
Reacting to this development, the former Inter Milan and AC Milan defender told Sports Extra in an interview that Mikel should reconcile with his club in order to create a friendly atmosphere in future endeavour.
“I just hope that Mikel will be able to reconcile with Trabzonspor because how you leave a club, how you are relieved of your contract, or how you walk away matters,” former AC Milan star Taribo told Sports Extra.
“In the future, he might be in need of the club, and it could be the other way round. So, it is how he leaves that they will use to judge him.
“I may not really know what transpired between him and the club, whether it was as a result of the coronavirus or not.

“I just want him to leave properly. You never can rule out the possibility of the club needing him to provide them with players in the future. All that is required is peace.”
