Wikki Tourists Coach Backs LMC’s Postponement Of NPFL

LMC's Postponement Of NPFL

Following the cancellation of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) by the League Management Company (LMC), Wikki Tourist head coach Usman Abdallah believes the decision is better than playing behind closed-door.

LMC announced the NPFL will proceed on an indefinite break on Wednesday, as a precaution since the outbreak of coronavirus in Nigeria.

Reacting to LMC’s decision, Abdallah told Brila.net that the idea of playing behind-closed-door would have been a disaster for clubs in the league.

“I think anything about health is a right decision, They are trying to protect us and we cannot ignore something like this,” said Abdallah.

“The best thing is to isolate everyone as it’s not about Nigeria alone, its a thing of the world and even in the German and other European leagues has been shut down.

“Playing behind the closed door is not a good idea, because the players are missing with each other and there is always a risk of transmitting the virus.”
