Former Super Eagles skipper, Joseph Yobo has urged Henry Onyekuru to leave French Ligue 1 club, Monaco, in a bid to revive his football career.
The 22-year-old joined Monaco from English Premier League outfit, Everton this summer but has struggled to earn a regular berth at the club.
Onyekuru has made just four league appearances for the Principality club this season after deemed surplus to requirement.
“It is sad he (Onyekuru) couldn’t find a chance to play in Everton,” Yobo told Aksam.com.tr.
“He is a great talent. His failure to secure a work permit didn’t allow him to play for Everton.
“The English Premier League is one of the best leagues in the world, but it can be a big disadvantage when you don’t play.
“His performance for Galatasaray last season was exceptional but his time in Monaco has not been good and leaving the club is the best option for him.”
The versatile forward has been linked with a loan move to Turkish champions Galatasaray in January, while Russian giants CSKA Moscow and Lokomotiv Moscow are also interested in him.
