Mikel Obi has said the Super Eagles has the capacity to win the 2019 African Cup of Nations slated for Cameroon.
The Super Eagles captain said aside from the fact that the team is blessed with young and talented players, the motivation and unity among the stars would galvanise the side to success.
Mikel said the amazing improvement that had been witnessed at the side in recent years, was because the older and experienced players in the team had made the young and new lads to settle down fast.
He said the present situation was different from what was obtainable in the past when coming into the national team was scary as the new lads must have to pay their dues before they were well accepted.
He said the unity, cooperation and motivation of players would really help the side at the competition.
Mikel added: “Things are now different in the current squad. We try to make sure that any newly invited player settles down without any worry.”It is one of the reasons why I believe the Eagles will do all they can to clinch the next title of the AFCON in 2019 to be hosted by Cameroon.
“With so much unity and motivation, as the team's current captain, I believe we are capable of winning next year in Cameroon.”
