Zinedine Zidane is hellbent on bringing the biggest stars to Real Madrid after his return to the club.
The legendary Frenchman demanded more control in the upcoming transfer market upon rejoining Los Blancos as the manager for the second time – with several marquee signings arriving.
Among the near £300m spending spree include Eden Hazard, Luka Jovic and Ferland Mendy.
However, Zidane had plans afoot to land the likes of Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes, Christian Eriksen and Kylian Mbappe.
The latter, according to Sport, is a later target in the market as conversations were held over Neymar who has been angling for a move away from Paris St-Germain all summer and Real Madrid were one club keeping an eye on matters.
And Sport have reported that PSG warned the Catalans of Real’s interest in Mbappe.
It has emerged that Zidane has made the 20-year-old his top target – even over Pogba.
The Manchester United midfielder was the Real boss’ priority in the summer.
Pogba was desperate for the move, as well, after revealing that he intended on taking up a new challenge this season.
But a transfer failed to materialise as United refused to come to the negotiating table.
And Zidane has now moved on to other targets, with Mbappe the subject of his adulation.
