Arsenal tried desperately to shrink their squad at the end of the transfer window but they have ended up with too many non-homegrown senior members in their first-team.
Thus, two players will have to be axed from their Premier League squad after the international break.
The full list of 19 needs to be narrowed down to just 17 non-homegrown players.
Goalkeepers have the likes of Bernd Leno and summer signing Runar Alex Runarsson.
For defenders, the Gunners have Cedric Soares, Gabriel Magalhaes, Sead Kolasinac, Pablo Mari, David Luiz, Shkodran Mustafi, Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Kieran Tierney.
In midfield, there is Dani Ceballos, Mohamed Elneny, Mesut Ozil, Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka.
And for the forwards, Arteta has Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Willian, Alexandre Lacazette and Nicolas Pepe.
The rules state each Premier League side can only register 25 players over the age of 21, and at least eight of them must be homegrown.
Arsenal must register their squad by October 20, meaning the Gunners' boss has less than two weeks to make his call.

So, the likes of Mustafi and Mari could well be at risk, while Ozil must also consider himself vulnerable despite being on £350,000-a-week.
