Cristiano Ronaldo Discusses Life Outside Football, Hints At Retirement

Cristiano Ronaldo Hints At Retirement

Cristiano Ronaldo is entering the twilight of his career at Juventus and has started to up his involvement in business ventures.

The 34-year-old has not guaranteed he will be playing football beyond the next two years.

Ronaldo, who was nominated for the FIFA Best Men’s Player last week, is still rated among the finest footballers on the planet despite approaching what is usually the twilight of a player’s career at 34.

The Portuguese superstar, who has already scored three Serie A goals for Juventus this term, is contracted in Turin until 2022 but was not even committal to more than two years in the game during a recent interview with SPORTbible.

“I still love football,” Ronaldo said after a year which has seen him expand his business interests.

“I love to entertain the fans and the people who love Cristiano.

“It doesn't matter the age, it's all about mentality.

“The last five years I start to enjoy this process of seeing me outside of football.

“So who knows what will happen in the next year or two?”

Ronaldo has been similarly coy about his future in other interviews this year.

He did hint at staying in the game for a while yet, though, when he was sat next to Lionel Messi for the 2019/20 Champions League draw.

Asked if he could retire at the same time as Messi, Ronaldo laughed: “He’s two years younger than me!

“I think I look good for my age! I hope to be here next year and in two years and three years.
