FBI, Interpol Have Been Invited To Fight NFF Corruption War

The fight against corruption in Nigeria football has now been taking to both the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Interpol by the Players Union.

In a statement signed by NANF’s Harrison Jalla, the union argued that the corruption in Nigeria football has an international dimension like FIFA and CAF grants.

It would be recalled that former sports minister Solomon Dalung in a petition to the EFCC since 2016 alleged that over $16m FIFA grants and royalties including several billions of Naira appropriated by the National Assembly was diverted and misappropriated by top officials.

Also, several billions alleged by whistleblowers to have been diverted since 2014 in a series of petitions to the defunct SPIP under the Chairmanship of Obono Obla was taken over by the office of the AGF only to be stalled and the file purportedly missing.

It was also alleged that the Central Bank of Nigeria has concealed information concerning the NANF request under the freedom of information ACT on FIFA 2018 $10m World Cup prize money.

“We are more than determined not to leave the future of Nigerian youths in the hands of a monstrous gang,” Jalla vowed.
