Manchester United are most likely going to end January with no new additions.
The club’s hunt for defensive reinforcements hasn't gone to plan, but they've now decided to put their hunt on the back burner in order to focus all efforts on securing their No.1 target in the summer.

The Red Devils are unlikely to secure any signings in the January transfer window and instead focus all their efforts on bringing in a defender in the summer.
As per Evening Standard, 27-year-old Kalidou Koulibaly is United's No.1 transfer target come the end of the season.
The Napoli centre-back has made 18 Serie A appearances this season and his form has attracted plenty of attention from across Europe.
United have made an unbelievable transformation under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, winning all nine matches since the Norwegian was appointed caretaker boss.
With just three clean sheets from those nine fixtures Solskjaer will be keen to shore up his defence, should he keep the job.
Also, Man Utd have offered Juan Mata a 12-month extension to try to stop him walking on a free transfer.
The 30-year-old is out of contract in the summer after joining from Chelsea in January 2014 for £37million.
The Spanish midfielder, who has made 208 appearances and scored 44 goals, earns around £140,000-a-week.

A one-year extension will bank Mata £6.7million and United are keen to avoid the star leaving Old Trafford on a free.
What's more, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed he doesn't see either Matteo Darmian or Andreas Pereira leaving Old Trafford this month.
The pair have been linked with moves away from the club in a bid to land more regular first-team football.
Inter Milan have been rumoured to be keeping an eye on Darmian's situation with the full-back having fallen down the pecking order at United.

An exit from Pereira would probably be a temporary one, but Solskjaer sees him being involved more often in the final weeks of the season.
