Manchester United could lose £9MILLION if they qualify for Champions League.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have to pay another £9m to Sporting Lisbon over the Bruno Fernandes deal.
The 25-year-ol midfielder, who has been in sparkling form of late, joined for £47m in January.
But there were a number of clauses inserted into the deal, according to Portuguese website A Bola.
The first is that once Fernandes reaches 20 appearances, United pay another £4.5m to Sporting.
Then another £4.5m has to be paid if United reach the top four and qualify for the Champions League.
At the time that was inserted Sporting were fuming, deeming it “unrealistic”.
If they win their last two games, they will finish at worst fourth – maybe even above Chelsea into third.
They can even draw the two games and will finish fourth ahead of Leicester, who they face in their final tie.
But that will mean another £4.5m heading over to Portugal as a result of qualifying a Champions League spot.

SunSport reported how Fernandes has already broken a Manchester United record that saw him overtake Robin van Persie and Eric Cantona.
