Nigeria National Team: Who Are the Uncapped Players Jose Peserio Can Call Up?
Jose Peseiro still has a lot of talent he can introduce to the Super Eagles setup

Led by Portuguese manager Jose Peseiro, the Nigeria national football team undoubtedly has one of the strongest squads in Africa.

The Super Eagles are blessed with talent across the pitch and are the envy of some of the top teams on the continent.

Although the Nigeria Super Eagles team is stacked already, there are still players waiting in the wings to play for the country with comparable or even higher quality, compared to those already in the National team.

This article takes a look at some uncapped players that Super Eagles coach, Jose Peseiro can bring into the fold ahead of AFCON 2023.

Chuba Akpom – Middlesbrough

He is, by all accounts, having the best season of his career. The Middlesbrough man sits on top of the English Championship’s top scorers ranking with 28 league goals in 37 games. His amazing form has seen him receive the Championship player of the year award as well.

His performances and form this season are enough to earn him a call up to the Super Eagles squad and his name has been on the lips or fans as well as different Super Eagles news outlets.

Eberechi Eze – Crystal Palace

After an injury hit start his season, Eberechi Eze has found his form and confidence. He is back to playing his best football and has shown himself to be one of the most exciting talents in the English Premier League.

Although Eze is also eligible to play for England, there is a severe competition for places and it looks unlikely that he will be picked regularly.

However, if he decides to play for the Super Eagles, he will come in as a huge upgrade on the team’s option and will be seen as one of the key players for AFCON 2023. He has also been pictured wearing the Nigerian training kit with current international Alex Iwobi.

Perhaps something to ponder about for Jose Peseiro.

Folarin Balogun – Arsenal (on loan at Stade de Remis

The Arsenal striker is having a brilliant loan spell at Ligue 1 side Remis. With 18 League goals this season, only Alexandre Lacazette, Jonathan David and Kylian Mbappe has scored more goals.

Balogun is currently eligible to play for three countries which are Nigeria, USA and England. An England callup will be unlikely as they have a very stacked attack.

Carney Chukwuemeka – Chelsea

The teenager’s promise and potential earned him a move to Premier League giants, Chelsea over the last summer. Although he is yet to show his talents as much as he would like, Chukwuekeka is a player that the current Super Eagles team could do with.

With his ability, he would instantly help bolster midfield options and his age means that he will be a part of the National team for a long time. If he is called early enough, he could he a difference maker for Nigeria at AFCON 2023.

Other players like Jordan Torunarigha of Belgian side( a central defender), Gent, Raphael Onyedika (a midfielder) of Club Brugge and Southampton winger, Samiel Edozie can be important players for the Super Eagles if they are given the chance by Jose Peseiro.

As the debate about who should get the Super Eagles nod continues, fans can participate in the action and use the Betway sign up offer or 1xbet promo code to begin playing.

Jose Peseiro definitely has a tough decision to make and while at that, fans can stay updated with the live scores surrounding the Super Eagles as well as the NPFL.
