Eight teams are each set to compete in the 2023/24 CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup quarter-finals after this was decided on matchday 6 of the group stages on Saturday, March 2 and Sunday, March 3, 2024.
Amongst the teams now left in Africa's elite club competitions this season are giants of African football, while some are fighting to gain recognition to be in the midst of the very big teams which have titles to show for their pedigree.
These teams will know their quarter-final opponents in due course when the draws are carried out by Africa's apex football governing body, the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
Meanwhile, as fans anticipate for the upcoming quarter-final draws which we are dedicated to let you know on the date and time in this article, let's first delve into the teams that have booked their place in the last eight of both the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup.
Quarter-finalists of the CAF Champions League
The reigning champions Al-Ahly are strong contenders to retain their title, but they will face stiff opposition from the other seven teams who booked their spot in the knockout phase.
Five of the eight teams are past CAF Champions League winners with at least one title. They are 11-time winners Al-Ahly, TP Mazembe with 5 titles, Esperance with 4 titles, while Asec Mimosas and Mamelodi Sundowns have won 1 title each.
On the other hand, three clubs are yet to taste continental success in the grandest stage of African club football. They are Tanzania's duo of Simba SC and Young Africans while the other team is Petro de Luanda.
For these teams who are yet to pick their first title, giving their very best is all that matters as this will cushion their dreams of upsetting the big guns standing in their way.

Quarter-finalists of the CAF Confederation Cup
The defending champions, USM Alger headline the eight qualified teams from the group stages.
The quarter-finalists include a total of four club sides that have won the title in the last few years.
These teams are USM Alger, winners in the 2022/23 season; Stade de Malien, winners in the 2008/09 campaign, RS Berkane who are winners in the 2019/20 & 2021/22 campaign, as well as Egyptian giants Zamalek who won it in the 2018/19 season.
Completing the quarter-final list are Libya's Abu Salem, Egypt's Modern Future, Nigeria’s Rivers United, and Dreams FC of Ghana.
It's worth mentioning that the quartet of Abu Salem, Modern Future, Rivers United, and Dreams FC are eager to make a name for themselves on the continent by going all the way to winning a maiden CAF Confederation Cup title.

Date & time of the 2024 CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup quarter-final draws
Excited fans of African football are itching to know the date and time for the quarter-final draws of this year's CAF competitions.
The anticipation is strongly building because these fans don't know the opponents their favourite teams will face off in the last eight.
The good news now is that the quarter-final draw date for both the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup has been revealed.
The draws are set to take place on Tuesday, 12 March 2024. However, the details have not been fully revealed yet.
