Nigeria's Super Eagles pulled off an upset victory over the Elephants of Ivory Coast. These are our Ivory Coast vs Nigeria player ratings:

Ivory Coast vs Nigeria top performers

William Troost-Ekong – 8.5

William Troost-Ekong looked really solid throughout the game. With four clearances, two interceptions and two tackles, the PAOK defender managed to choke Ivory Coast's attack. Troost-Ekong also scored the only goal in Thursday's clash.

Calvin Bassey – 8.0

It shouldn't be a surprise that the next player on our list is a defender. It's safe to say that the Super Eagles' defence won them the game, and Calvin Bassey is one of the reasons for that victory.

The Fulham defender made six tackles, with three clearances and an interception. He also won six of seven ground duels.

Stanley Nwabali – 7.8

Stanley Nwabali came into this game with a chip on his shoulder. There were concerns if he was the right man to replace Francis Uzoho in front of goal, especially after the Chippa United shot-stopper conceded two times in his first two games.

However, Nwabali proved his worth on Thursday, making three fine saves. He contributed his fair share to Nigeria's win.

Franck Kessie -7.5

The former AC Milan player was very efficient with his passing, completing 87 percent of his passes (30/34). He contested eight ground duels, winning five of them. Kessie also made two tackles, with a clearance.

Frank Onyeka -7.2

Two interceptions, two tackles, two clearances. Frank Onyeka held his own defensively. The Brentford player also completed 22 of 25 passes (88%) whilst winning three of four ground duels.

Lowest ratings

Christian Kouame – 5.5

In 67 minutes of play, Christian Kouame did nothing noteworthy. The Fiorentina striker missed a big chance that could've given Ivory Coast the lead in the first half. He also lost seven of nine contested ground balls.

Jean-Philippe Krasso – 5.8

Krasso touched the ball a total of 20 times, and lost possession on 10 occasions. He struggled to find his teammates, missing six of his nine passes. Krasso's total tally of one shot doesn't look good for a striker who played for 84 minutes.

Seko Fofana – 6.0

The first goalscorer of this tournament struggled to find the net. Of his five total shots, only one went on target. Fofana
