Juventus Name Aubameyang As Replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo

Barely twenty-four hours after Mikel Arteta confirmed that Arsenal striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will stay at the Emirates, Italian giants, Juventus, have identified the Gabonese striker as a replacement for the outgoing Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Bianconeri are on the hunt for a striker as the possibility of Ronaldo leaving Turin for Manchester City becomes stronger by the day.

Ronaldo's exit from Juve would see the club's highest earner leave the club and would in turn bring some respite to Juve's salary sheet – and also aid their pursuit for a capable and experienced replacement.

Meanwhile, Arteta had rebuffed reports earlier this week that Aubameyang would be allowed to depart this summer – amid suggestions that Man City would move for the striker following their failed pursuit of Harry Kane.

However, a report from TuttoMercatoWeb reveals that the Gabonese striker has been identified by Juve, who are keen to secure a striking replacement for Ronaldo’s impending exit.

The Gunners captain was ruled out of the club’s opening two Premier League games before netting a hat-trick in Wednesday’s six-goal EFL Cup victory at West Brom.

It remains unclear whether the former Borussia Dortmund hitman would stay as he's not said anything about leaving but there are strong indications that he may decide to leave in pursuit of European football.
