Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has revealed that Victor Osimhen will leave the Serie A side in the summer.

Despite recently putting pen to paper on a new deal at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, Osimhen's future has remained a huge topic of discussion.

Osimhen turned down a move to Saudi Arabia last summer but Chelsea, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have all been linked with a move for the striker.

Speaking in a recent interview with TuttoMercatoWeb, De Laurentiis has confirmed that Osimhen will move to a new club at the end of the season.

“We knew it since last summer, or negotiations were long and amicable,” De Laurentiis said.

“We were dragging things out but we knew perfectly well that he would go to Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain or some English team.”

The news coming out of Napoli regarding Osimhen's future will be music to the ears of Chelsea fans as the Premier League outfit are reportedly at the front of the queue to land the 25-year-old.

Osimhen has previously spoken about his idolisation of ex-Chelsea striker Didier Drogba and he now looks set to follow in the footsteps of the legendary Ivorian.

Nonetheless, Chelsea still have work to do in their pursuit of Osimhen as the Blues will likely have to fork out Osimhen's full release clause of €130 million.

Osimhen will have some big decisions to make over his future in the coming months but in the meantime, he is currently focused on delivering international glory for the Super Eagles at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.

The Nigerian has been guilty of spurning several clear-cut chances over Nigeria's three group-stage matches and he will be looking to return to the score sheet in tomorrow's round-of-16 clash against Cameroon.
