The uncertainty surrounding the future of the current Premier League season has forced Manchester United to apply brakes on the permanent signing of former Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo.
Ighalo has four goals to his credit in eight games since joining on loan from Chinese Super League outfit Shanghai Shenua in January.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had plans to turn Igahlo's temporary deal into a permanent one this summer as he overhauls his squad.
According to The Daily Mail, the coronavirus crisis has led United to delay their decision on the former Watford forward’s future.
The Red Devils, it is claimed, want to know when the Premier League campaign will resume before making a decision on the Nigerian, who has racked up wages of £130,000 a week during the two months of lockdown.
And the return of Marcus Rashford has also given Solskjaer’s side a boost, as the striker's injury was one of the reasons the club were forced to bring in Ighalo in January.
Therefore, United will assess Rashford and Paul Pogba, who has also been out injured, before making a concrete decision.
