To be fair, Ronwen Williams has a blunder that could've cost Bafana Bafana. However, he redeemed himself later on, saving two penalties.
Khuliso Mudau – 7.0
Yes, Bafana Bafana kept a clean sheet. However, it was because of DR Congo's wastefulness, rather than South Africa's defensive prowess.
Mudau did his part, with four tackles and two interceptions.
Siyanda Xulu – 7.2
Siyanda Xulu has three clearances, a blocked shot and an interception in 90 minutes of play. He also converted from the spot when Bafana Bafana needed him to.
Nkosinathi Sibisi – 7.5
This was Nkosinathi Sibisi's first start at AFCON 2023, and he was really impressive. The Orlando Pirates player had six tackles, four clearances and an interception.
Sibisi was all over the place. He completed 90 percent (69/77) of his passes, and lost possession just nine times from 92 touches.
Aubrey Modiba – 6.7
Aubrey Modiba has been a vital part of Bafana Bafana's backline, keeping five clean sheets in seven starts. However, Saturday's performance wasn't his best.
Teboho Mokoena – 6.6
Like Modiba, Mokoena didn't put up his best performance against DR Congo. However, the 27-year-old was efficient with his passing, completing 51/56 (91 percent) of them.
Furthermore, Mokoena missed a penalty, but Ronwen Williams was able to win the game for Bafana Bafana in spite of that.
Sphephelo Sithole – 6.4
In 90 minutes of play, Sphephelo Sithole did nothing noteworthy.
Thapelo Morena – 6.5
For someone who was on the field for all of 72 minutes, Thapelo Morena had just 23 touches on the ball, and he lost possession seven times.
Themba Zwane – 6.8
Themba Zwane also did nothing noteworthy on Saturday. He was unable to register a shot in 58 minutes of play.
Mihlali Mayambela – 7.0
Mihlali Mayambela missed a big chance that could've given Bafana Bafana the lead. However, he did manage to get three shots on target.
Evidence Makgopa – 6.2
Evidence Makgopa had just 16 touches on the ball in 58 minutes of play. Despite leading the charge, he only managed to register one shot.
