No new Super Eagles jersey for AFCON 2023, says NFF
Fans, anticipating the Super Eagles jersey that will make its debut in Ivory Coast for the Africa Cup of Nations tournament in January 2024, began circulating images of a supposed mew kit on social media.
It turns out that the jersey being circulated was a concept kit made by an unnamed graphic artist. The artist successfully put forth his idea of what he would like to see the three-time African champions wear at the continental showpiece.
His idea was so good, that Super Eagles fans and some media outlets believed it was a Nike design and circulated the image.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) had to come out with a disclaimer to state that there are no plans to release a new jersey for AFCON.
The NFF wrote: “Rumours about a new jersey launch between NIKE and the senior men's national team circulating around social media has been brought to our notice. We want to inform the general public that this claim is not true.
“At the moment, we have no jersey being launched for the Super Eagles for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations scheduled to hold in Cote d’Ivoire next month.”

This means that the Super Eagles jersey released just before the 2022 FIFA World Cup last year is the same jersey that the team, revealed by José Peseiro on Friday, will wear in their attempt to capture their fourth African title.
