Ademola Lookman and Atalanta learn Serie A opponents

With all of Europe's top 5 leagues returning sometime next month, fixtures for the 2023/24 Italian Serie A season were released today. One of the teams we're particularly interested in is Atalanta, who have Nigeria Super Eagles' Ademola Lookman in their squad.

The 25 year old was spectacular for Atalanta last season, leading the team in both goals and assists; he'll set his sights on yet another solid campaign. It's worth mentioning that Atalanta will kick off their Serie A campaign with a trip to Sassuolo on 20th August. They'll host Torino for the final match of their season on 26th May next year. Ademola Lookman's numbers for Atalanta last season

It's important to point out that Ademola Lookman played for Leipzig 12 months ago. He had been at the club since 2019, with loan spells at Fulham and Leicester City. However, Atalanta shelled out €9 million for the prolific striker in August last year, and he turned out to be their best player.

As we've previously mentioned, Lookman led the team in goals and assists last season; he made 31 total appearances in the Serie A, starting 20 games. It may interest you to know that the 25 year old player registered 13 goals and six assists in the league last season, creating 10 big chances in the process. As a matter of fact, only four players scored more goals than Lookman last season. Due to his stellar performances for the club, Ademola Lookman was voted Atalanta's best player.

Atalanta's 2023-24 fixtures

We've already established that Atalanta will make the trip to Sassuolo for their opening match; they have an interesting start to their campaign, playing three road games in their first four matches. It's important to point out that Atalanta will have a tough run of fixtures from matchday 11; as they'll go up against Inter, Udinese, Napoli, Torino and AC Milan in just one month.
