Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman was on fire as he was involved in all three Atalanta goals in the 3-3 thriller against Juventus on Sunday night.
The Allianz stadium faced new realities as their side started their climb back up the table against high-flying Atalanta. In a game where both teams showcased their offensive prowess while revealing their defensive frailties, Nigeria's Lookman grabbed the headlines.
The former Everton man put his side ahead in the fifth minute of the game on a Jeremy Boga assist. Atalanta held the lead until the 23rd minute when Nicolo Fagioli was fouled in the box. VAR awarded a penalty, and Angel Di Maria made no mistake in dispatching it.
Fagioli was also involved in Juventus' second goal, this time setting up Arkadiusz Milik in the 34th minute to put Juventus 2-1 ahead.
Atalanta equalized in the 46th minute; this time the Nigerian scorer of the first set up Dane Joachim Maehle. Atalanta would go ahead again in the 53rd minute, the combination for the first goal coming together for the third as Boga assisted Lookman again.
Juventus came back into the game again as Di Maria found Danilo in the 65th minute to tie the game 3-3.
The result takes Atalanta to 5th, temporarily above Lazio, who have yet to play their 19th game of the season. Juventus restart their climb up the table following their 15-point deduction, moving from 10th to 9th.
The Nigerian forward has been in impressive form for Atalanta this season since joining from Leipzig in the summer.
Lookman has had an impressive eight-goal contribution in his last three games. The winger has scored 13 goals and provided four assists in 19 games for Atalanta.
