AFC Leopards vs Talanta is a Kenya Premier League 2023/24 season fixture scheduled for Sunday, 27th August. AFC Leopards vs Talanta will kick off at 3 PM EAT.
The first day of the campaign saw Gor Mahia host Sofapaka at the Moi International Sports Center, Karasani in a game that ended 1-1 while Tusker FC which finished second last season, won 0-1 away at the coast against Bandari FC.
Elsewhere, Kariobangi Sharks vs Police FC ended 0-0 while Nzoia Sugar edged out Ulinzi Stars in a 2-1 home victory.
Leopards to host FC Talanta at Kasarani in season opener
Day 1 of the 2023/24 FKF Kenya Premier League campaign was quite underwhelming for Gor Mahia as Kogallo were forced to come from 0-1 down at home to share the spoils with Sofapaka.
The Gor Mahia vs Sofapaka result means bitter rivals, AFC Leopards, now have a chance to open a wide lead at the top when they host Talanta FC on the second day of the campaign at the Moi International Sports Center, Karasani.
The match was originally scheduled to be played at Nyayo National Stadium but reports indicate the venue will not be available for Ingwe to use on matchday 2.

AFC Leopards have a huge sponsorship deal with Betika, a Kenyan betting company. The partnership with Betika enters its second year in a deal worth Ksh. 65 million annually for three years.
On the other hand, AFC Talanta are sponsored by the Communication of Authority of Kenya, a talent initiative run by the government agency through Talanta Academy.
Given the massive support that AFC Leopards enjoys in Kenya's domestic league, we expect ‘Ingwe' fans to start trooping to the venue early morning on Sunday.
Excitement is already building ahead of AFC Leopards vs Talanta, the first game of the season for both teams.

AFC Leopards vs Talanta predictions
A clash between Kogalo and Sofapaka was a highly anticipated encounter but after it ended 1-1, AFC Leopards can now have a breather ahead of their season opener against Talanta on day two of the season.
Will AFC Leopards title the scales in their favour on the second day of the campaign? Here are our three predictions for AFC Leopards vs Talanta in the FKF Kenya Premier League 2023/24 season.
Leopards to shine on Day 2 of the campaign
Leopards are the overwhelming favourites ahead of their season opener against Talanta.
Most betting sites have handed Ingwe a huge advantage against FC Talanta in the 1×2 betting market.
The visitors finished 14th last season, 7 points above the relegation playoffs expected to struggle.
It will be the 5th duel between Leopards and Talanta, noting that the hosts won this matchup twice in the past and settled for the spoils on two occasions.
AFC Leopards finished 8th last season, a position they would want to better in the 2023/24 campaign.
Moreover, Leopard finished in 3rd place when they defeated Ulinzi Stars in the Mozzart Bet Cup fixture on 1st July. With that, they have a good reason to stay motivated, especially in the first few weeks of the campaign.
FC Talanta to struggle in front of goal, one-sided scoreline expected
Stats from previous encounters with AFC Leopards show that FC Talanta scored only three goals in 4 clashes with the Leopards.
On the other hand, AFC Leopards found the back of the net 10 times in the four meetings and only failed to score on one occasion.
The fact that AFC Leopards are the favourites in the encounter means we are likely to have goals on only one side of the pitch, predictably in favour of Leopards.
Over 1.5 AFC Leopards goals
This should be an easy game for Leopards.
The hosts scored 3 or more goals against Talanta FC in two of the previous 4 meetings and could not score in only one meeting.
Moreover, massive home support at Kasarania International Stadium will be pivotal to AFC Leopards' chances of winning this game with a reasonable margin.
Tom Juma who was the assistant coach last season will be the big man in charge of Leopards in the 2023/24 campaign. He takes over from Patrick Aussems who resigned from the position.
