Looking beyond the end of the season, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp needs to sign a new forward to both provide competition for Firmino and to replace him when he needs rest.
With Timo Werner refusing to sign a contract extension with RB Leipzig, fans want Michael Edwards to seal a deal for the former Stuttgart man.
Werner’s pace and obsession with scoring goals make him the ideal striker to come in this summer having scored 17 goals and five assists in all competitions for Leipzig this season.
The German forward is only 23 years of age and has a lot of room to develop under a manager like Klopp, who is well-known for nurturing attacking talent.
Transfer expert Ian McGarry told the Transfer Window Podcast, via the Daily Star, that “Liverpool are very close to agreeing personal terms with Werner.”
