Fantasy Premier League managers the world over have begun to rack their heads to get the best fpl team ahead of the Saturday deadline.
A few favourites like Brighton and Hove Albion man Pervis Estupiñan have been ruled out of action due to injury. Some favourites are coming up against teams that they struggle against (Arsenal take on Manchester City). The issue of which players to field is trickier than it has been so far this season ahead of gameweek 8.
Let us now see the best options for a balanced team ahead of another Premier League weekend.
Fantasy Premier League standouts ahead of gameweek 8
No analyst of fan would imagine writing what you are about to read but the events of the last few weeks have forced our hand.
Erling Haaland is a doubt for good returns in gameweek 8.
Is there ever a time to take the #FPL captaincy armband from Erling Haaland?
As @ManCity approach a tricky run of fixtures, The Scout questions whether that time could be now 👀

The former Borussia Dortmund man's form is erratic at the moment making him a doubt for points in gameweek 8. This is especially true as they come up against Arsenal, who are one of the best defensive sides in the league at the moment.
The Norwegian striker has failed to find the back of the net for Manchester City in their last three outings (two Premier League matches and one UEFA Champions League match). In that time, City have lost two and won one.
However, it will be folly to take Erling Haaland off your team as an FPL manager. The best FPL team will always have Haaland in it. The bone of contention is in giving him the captain tag, which is where Mohamed Salah and Heung-Min Son come in.
With Haaland underperforming in the last few gameweeks, a surefire way to seal points will be to tag one of Son or Salah as your team captain.
The budgetary constraints of FPL cannot allow for all three players to be on the same team without sacrificing the overall quality of your team. However, getting one of these two in will guarantee that you end gameweek 8 in the top half of your mini league and possible defeat your head-to-head opponent.
Another interesting option is Haaland's strike partner, Julian Alvarez. He is the official FPL scout's top pick and one that Goalball Live will also recommend.
