The 28th edition of the CAF Awards for 2019 has taken place at the Albatros Citadel Sahl Hasheesh Resort in Hurghada, Egypt on Tuesday night.
The Awards saw the emergence of African footballers and officials who performed exceptionally well in 2019.
Sadio Mane was named the African Player of the Year after polling a total of 477 votes ahead of his Liverpool teammate Mohamed Salah, who polled 325 votes and Algeria’s Riyad Mahrez with 267 votes.
Asisat Oshoala won the African Women’s Player of the Year for the fourth time, the same number of awards as ex-star Perpetua Nkwocha polling 351 votes, 30 more than Cameroonian forward, Ajara Nchout and Thembi Kgatlana, who had 247 votes.
