Cavani Addresses Cursed Superstition Of Wearing No7 Shirt At Man Utd

Edinson Cavani completed a deadline day move to Old Trafford and has been handed Manchester UInited’s most iconic No 7 shirt for his stay in the Premier League.

The Uruguayan follows in the footsteps of a string of Red Devils legends that have worn the iconic number.

George Best, Eric Cantona, David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo have all achieved great success in the shirt.

And Cavani, 33, has played down the rumours of the No 7 shirt as been cursed saying he is confident he will be able to carry on the great tradition, when his Premier League career starts after the international break.

“It will give me great pride to wear the No 7 shirt for Manchester United,” he told ESPN.

“Now I am going to prepare for this responsibility, do my best to be ready and enjoy it and I hope to make my mark at Manchester United.
