Chelsea considering move to sign Aleksandar Mitrovic  – Report

Chelsea are one of the few clubs keeping tabs on Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic ahead of the January transfer window, so says reports in the British media.

The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Blues are looking to try and make a move to sign the Mitrovic after having been impressed by his recent performances.

The Fulham striker has been in impressive form for his club since signing for them from Newcastle United for £22m in the summer transfer window.

He initially joined the Cottagers on loan back in January and netted 12 goals in 15 matches to help them gain promotion to the Premier League.

The same source claims that new Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri is uncertain about the long-term future of the club’s forward Olivier Giroud, who turns 32 later in September.

The source says that the west London club will continue to keep tabs on Mitrovic as the January transfer window draws near, although his fine form is likely to have augmented his asking price.

Meanwhile, Chelsea moved to the top of the Premier League table on Saturday following a dominant 4-1 victory over Cardiff City at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues are aiming to try and break back into the top four this season after having finished fifth and won the FA Cup last term under Antonio Conte.
