Christian Pulisic Takes Chelsea To FA Cup Semi Finals

Christian Pulisic has found it hard to break into Thomas Tuchel’s plans since the German arrived at Chelsea, with the visit of Sheffield United just his second start since Frank Lampard departed.

But the 22-year-old American showed Blues fans what they have been missing with a lively display as Tuchel’s men progressed to the semi-finals.

The scoring was opened by Oliver Norwood’s first-half own-goal, but Pulisic had several chances to double their lead. After the break, the attacker continued to hunt for a goal.

The Blades appeared to have no answer for Pulisic’s skills, mainly restoring to fouling him in an attempt to stop his influence on the game.

With Hakim Ziyech not having the impact required from one of the positions behind the striker, Pulisic’s performance will give Tuchel food for thought about who will partner Mason Mount.

The big question now though is whether Tuchel was as impressed as the watching public.
