Former American striker Eddie Johnson has announced Christian Pulisic's move from Borussia Dortmund to Chelsea on social media in a huge error.
Now the move appears to have moved a step closer to completion after Johnson, who played for Fulham, Cardiff and Preston during his long career, revealed the move on Instagram.
Alongside a picture of Pulisic in both a Dortmund and Chelsea, Johnson wrote: “So stoked for you lil' bro, great move.”
Pulisic, who is also being tracked by Bayern Munich, has been capped 23 times by the United States.
Pulisic would be an addition to the squad, not a replacement for any individual.
“England, the Premier League, is where lots of kids dream of playing so there is no reason why one day I won't play here,” Pulisic said before England's match with the United States in November.
“We are having a great year at Dortmund and I am enjoying every moment of that.”
