Arsenal are set to make a move for Juventus goalkeeper Emil Audero as they look to replace Petr Cech.
The Italian, who becomes a free agent in the summer, is at present on loan at Sampdoria and has been impressive this season.
And as per Metro, the 22-year-old has emerged as a potential target for the Gunners to compete with Leno for the number one spot.
Ironically, ex-Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny is the man halting Audero's career at Juventus after nailing down Gianluigi Buffon's former jersey.
Sampdoria could also look to sign Audero on a permanent deal but he may find the chance to play Premier League football appealing.
Arsenal manager Unai Emery confirmed earlier in the month that there were no transfer funds available in January with loan deals the most likely incoming players.
The Independent report that Arsenal are keen to take him on loan for the rest of the season before making the deal permanent in the summer.
It is rumoured Bayern would be prepared to let him go as long as the Gunners pay the £3m Real Madrid are due for the final six months of his loan.
