Former Nigerian midfielder, Mutiu Adepohu has warned the Super Eagles players to avoid the mistakes they made against the Central Africa Republic when they visit Liberia in a 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Recall that the team narrowly lost 1-0 to CAR at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos before winning the reverse fixture 2-0 at the Omnisport Stadium, Douala, Cameroon on Sunday.
In a chat with Goalballlive, the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations winner stated that the game against Liberia will be crucial to the team's progress to the final knockout stages.
“I am delighted that the team defeated the Central Africa Republic in the reverse fixture.
“However, there is more to be done if the team must overcome Liberia in their next fixture.
“The Super Eagles must avoid making the same mistakes they made against CAR if they are to progress to the next stages.
“Liberia might look easy to beat, but they will coming with the mindset of upsetting the team.”
