Fisayo Dele-Bashiru came off the bench on the hour at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday 11 October 2026, replacing Davide Frattesi as Lazio beat Monza 3-1. It was his first game since a thigh injury on the opening day against Bologna. Six days later, Corriere dello Sport reported that Lazio want to tie him down long term.

So what does he earn?

From the City academy to Rome

Manchester City took him in at eight, in 2009. He stayed eleven years. There was no first-team game.

Sheffield Wednesday signed him in July 2020, and across three seasons at Hillsborough he played 86 times in all competitions, scored six goals and was named the club's Player of the Month for October 2021.

Then came Turkey. Hatayspor gave him a three-year deal in July 2023. One season produced nine goals in 39 games. Italian clubs noticed.

Lazio moved on 6 July 2024. Calciomercato reported a paid loan of €2 million with an obligation to buy, which was triggered in March 2025, and Turkish daily Fanatik, citing Transfermarkt, put Hatayspor's total income from the sale at €5.43 million.

Dele-Bashiru salary, contract and net worth

Lazio do not publish wages. The only figure from a serious outlet comes from Calciomercato, which reported on the day of the signing that he had agreed a four-year contract to 30 June 2028 worth €1.3 million net per season.

At roughly N1,490 to the euro in early October 2026, that is about N1.94 billion a year. In dollars, it is close to $1.46 million at around N1,328. Treat it as an estimate. Bonuses, image rights and any revision since 2024 are not public.

The 2028 deadline is why the renewal story matters. Complete Sports and Bold Sports, both following Corriere dello Sport, say the club want to start talks early, with Gustav Isaksen and Nicolò Rovella also on the list. No agreement has been announced.

Net worth is simpler. Several websites print confident totals, but none we found cites a source or a method, so we are not repeating any of them. He has been a professional since 2020, the Lazio wage is the largest published figure of his career, and he has no publicly documented business interests.

His place with the Super Eagles

His first Nigeria call-up came in October 2023. Since then he has collected 19 caps and two goals: the first in a 1-1 draw with South Africa in World Cup qualifying on 7 June 2024, the second in a 1-0 win over Libya in AFCON qualifying that October.

He was in the squad that took bronze at AFCON 2025, when Nigeria beat Egypt 4-2 on penalties in Casablanca on 17 January 2026.

The injury came at a bad time. When Eric Chelle named his 24-man squad on 18 September 2026 for the AFCON 2027 qualifiers against Madagascar in Uyo and Guinea-Bissau away, the midfield places went to Wilfred Ndidi, Alex Iwobi, Raphael Onyedika and Frank Onyeka, while Dele-Bashiru, who had not played since 24 August, was left out.

He is fit again now.

Family and background

Football runs in the family. His older brother Tom, born in September 1999, also came through the Manchester City academy before joining Watford, and represented Nigeria at under-20 and under-23 level in 2019. Tom spent 2025-26 on loan at Gençlerbirliği in Turkey, and Soccernet reported in June 2026, citing Greek media, that he was close to joining Aris Saloniki.

Fisayo has spoken about that rivalry. “I didn't know I would be considered for the Super Eagles before him,” he told Soccernet in October 2024.

Beyond the brothers' careers, the family keeps its private life private. We have nothing to add.

Our view

At 25, with Lazio unbeaten after six league games and keen to extend his stay, Dele-Bashiru is better placed than his absence from the Eagles squad suggests. The six things we listed when he first joined the Super Eagles still hold, but a goal on the final day of last season and Lazio's run to the 2025-26 Coppa Italia final show a player who belongs in Serie A, and a new deal would probably lift him above the €1.3 million mark, though nothing on that has been published.
