In our Ghana Premier League predictions, we note that prior to winning the league in the 2022/23 season, Medeama finished second in the 2021/22 season.
With that, you can say the reigning Ghana Premier League champions were prepared for something bigger, which they achieved in the 2022/23 season.
Medeama steadily climbed the rankings starting from 6th in 2019/20, finished 5th in the 2020/21 season and were 2nd in 2021/22.
The good progress over the years have cumulatively been a launchpad for their most recent success.
Medeama are through to the next round of the CAF Champions League after edging out Remo Stars of Nigeria in the preliminary stages of the contest.

In all fairness and bearing in mind the fact that Medeama have been consistently improving in the last four seasons, they should at least finish 2nd or 3rd should they fail to defend the crown.
Medeama will host Accra Lions FC in a season opener on the 20th of September. They have hosted the visitors twice and won both games, scoring two goals in each case.

Kotoko holds the most crowns in the domestic competition ahead of this 68th season of the Ghana Premier League, so are undoubtedly huge favourites in the 2023/24 season.

Asante Kotoko finished 4th last season with 52 points, 8 points behind champions Medeama.
Kotoko won the Ghana Premier League title in the 2021/22 season with 67 points, behind whom were Medeama with 56 points. They have failed to make the top three once in the last four seasons.
Nations FC are is the promoted outfit to watch in Ghana Premier League 2023/24 season
Three newcomers will feature in the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season.
They are Nations FC, Bofoakwa Tano FC, and Heart of Lions FC.
However, looking at how each of the three promoted outfits performed in their respective divisions, Nations FC had a great campaign.
With that, our next Ghana Premier League prediction is a bet on Nations FC to remain in the top flight at the end of the new season.

Several matches are scheduled for the 17th of September namely:
