Hossam El-Badry Axed As Egyptian National Team Coach

Egyptian Football Association have announced the dismissal of Hossam El-Badry as Egypt's national team coach following the draw against Gabon.

The news of his sack was posted on EFA's official social media platforms.

“The Egyptian Football Association would like to thank Hossam El-Badry and his technical staff for the work they have done for the national team.

“We wish them good luck and fortune in their future career. And the EFA will decide the new technical staff for the national team in the next 48 hours,” the statement read.

The 61-year old manager was appointed after Javier Aguirre was sacked following a poor outing at the AFCON in 2019.

During El-Badry's time in charge of the team, El-Badry was able to lead the Pharaohs to nine games, with five matches won and four draws recorded.

But Egypt's performance in the current FIFA World Cup Qualifiers has been questioned by many after the country recorded a draw against Gabon on Sunday.
