Jude Sunday relishing new opportunity
After signing his contract with the Slovakian side, he was excited as he spoke to the club's media after his unveiling, stating he's motivated to give his best to his new team.
“It’s a very big chance for me. I have been very well-received at the club. I also feel very good in the cabin of the first team. I want to give the best to the team and to the fans. I would like to follow the path of Moses Simon,” Jude Sunday said.
“I know that he’s got the chance to become a great player right here. I can say that he is my mentor. But I want to be even better than him. It will not be easy, but it is motivation.”
Jude Sunday was part of the Nigeria Flying Eagles squad to the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations where Nigeria finished in third place, to qualify for the U-20 FIFA World Cup.
He was also with the Ladan Bosso-led squad to the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Argentina, where Nigeria lost 1-0 in the quarterfinals to South Korea.
Sunday scored four goals in 12 appearances for the Flying Eagles this year.
The move is seen as a good one by Nigerian fans who think he has a good opportunity to horn his potential at AS Trencin, and to develop to become a better player in the next few years.
