Our Kenya Premier League prediction looks at the fixtures in round 2 of the domestic competition.

Matchweek 2 kicks off on 1st September with at least four games set to take place on the first day.

Round 2 of the games will end on 13th September due to varying fixture dates and other team engagements.

Low scorelines recorded in matchweek 1

While many fans of various Kenya Premier League teams anticipated a great start to the campaign, teams like AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia ended with only a point from their effort in matchweek 1.

In matchweek 1, there were over 2.5 goals in only one of the encounters that pitted Nzoia United against Ulinzi Stars. Nzoia won the game 2-1 against the expectations of many.

Leopards which hosted FC Talanta will play away from home against Kenya Commercial Bank. Bitter rivals Gor Mahia play away against Ulinzi Stars in a match expected to be very entertaining.

Will the top guns end the poor start to the 2023/24 KPL campaign?

The big question ahead of round 2 of the FKF Kenya Premier League is whether teams like Gor Mahia, AFC Leopards, Kenya Police and KCB will make the best of their second chances in the 2023/24 campaign.

Gor Mahia shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw with Sofapaka. Kogalo were underwhelming in the game only to mount a late attempt to try and overturn the result shortly before the final whistle.

Leopards were held to a 0-0 draw against FC Talanta in what was largely a low-intensity game and a poor start for Ingwe.

The second round will see both Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards play away from home, so we could see even more surprises in matchweek 2.

5 FKF Premier League matchweek 2 predictions

All the above round 2 fixtures in the Kenya Premier League will take place between 2nd and 3 September. Wazito FC vs Nzoia United will play on 13th September.

Here are some tip picks in our Kenya Premier League prediction ahead of round 2 kick-off:

Tusker vs Kariobangi Sharks: Brewers expected to get their second win

Tusker finished second last season and are already looking to set the bar high in the 2023/24 season.

The Brewers kicked off this season's campaign with an emphatic 0-1 away win over Bandari. They welcome Sharks at the Thika Stadium and no doubt Tusker FC are the favourites here.

Kakamega Homeboyz favourites in the season opener against Muranga Seal

Muranga Seal were voted by fans as the club of the week in matchweek 1. Can they keep the momentum after the promoted side won their season opener?

A continental campaign saw Kakamega Homeboyz's first game postponed but this season's opener comes against a weaker side in Muranga Seal.

Muranga Seal were promoted to the top flight last season and despite defeating Shabana FC, another promoted outfit in the first game, we don't think they will be a match to the Homeboyz.

KCB vs AFC Leopards: Ingwe likely to settle for another draw

Leopards would have wished this clash with KCB to come late in the season, especially after an underwhelming start to the 2023/24 FKF campaign.

KCB is never an easy opponent and the fact that they play at home in a season opener comes with all the expectations. We think this will end square.

The last encounter ended 0-0, a result we could see here or at best a 1-1 outcome.

Gor Mahia risks another defeat against Ulinzi Stars in round 2 of the 2023/24 KPL season

Kenya Premier League prediction: Gor Mahia FC

Much was expected from Gor Mahia in the season opener but they ended up disappointing fans.

A draw at home wasn't something to be happy about and so, a clash with Ulinzi Stars, which happen to be another strong rival, may not end well for Kogalo.

With that, our next Kenya Premier League prediction is a loss for Gor Mahia when they play against Ulinzi Stars in matchweek 2.

Gor Mahia lost once and drew as many times in their last away games against Ulinzi Stars.

Sofapaka to edge out Bandari in second game of the season

Our final Kenya Premier League prediction is on the Sofapaka vs Bandari FC. We expect Sofapaka to be the stronger side here.

The hosts were relentless in their season opener against Gor Mahia, so defeating Bandari who lost at home in the season opener to Tusker and now play on the road should be a matter of when the match kicks off.
