Leicester City have put forward a £13.5million bid to sign Ibrahima Diallo from Brest, according to reports.
Brendan Rodgers side could look to add a midfielder to their squad this month after the injury sustained by squad player Nampalys Mendy.
And talented French youth international Diallo could fit the bill.
According to French podcast Brest On Air, the Ligue 1 side are very reluctant to sell the box-to-box schemer.
The magnitude of the bid, however, could lead to Brest changing their minds.
The player himself is also believed to be reluctant to leave this month, fearing the potential impact on his development if he departs too early.
If his club are to receive a transformational offer, however, his hand may be forced.
The Foxes will face competition from Spanish side Sevilla, who are also interested.
Boss Brendan Rodgers had previously claimed that the Foxes wouldn't be entering the market for a midfielder, but things appear to have changed.
He had said: “I think we’ll be okay with that there. It would be a danger if there were any more [injuries], then we would have to look at it.

“Notoriously, I'll always have more midfield players because of how we play, and because they can play in other positions.”
