Liverpool FC Transfer News: Matthijs De Ligt Will Move To England Or Spain – Ajax Boss

Ajax CEO Edwin van der Sar has revealed that Matthijs de Ligt will move to either England or Spain.

According to The Metro, Barcelona are looking to complete a deal for the 19-year-old as they have done with Frenkie de Jong, however, the Reds have been linked with the centre-back.

In an interview with Sky Italia, Van der Sar suggested England or Spain would be De Ligt’s next destination:

“I think these will be De Ligt’s final games with Ajax.

“But I hope he goes out on a high. He’s been here since he was a child and will end up at a big club.

“I think he’ll go to England or Spain.”

De Ligt and Virgil van Dijk are defence partners for the Dutch national side, and the Metro believes that playing alongside the Liverpool star would be appealing.

The Reds’ boss Jurgen Klopp could see De Ligt improve in the coming years.
