Man Utd Are Revealed To Be Keeping No.7 Shirt Reserved For This Player

According to ESPN, there is a player who remains Manchester United's top target this summer and they have even left the number seven shirt vacant for him, in the hope, he'll arrive ahead of next season.

That's quite the statement. United's No.7 jersey is iconic, having been worn by the likes of Eric Cantona, David Beckham and of course, Cristiano Ronaldo.

For the club to leave it vacant in the hope that Borussia Dortmund forward Jadon Sancho will arrive sends a pretty clear message – they want their man.

But it won't be that simple. ESPN's report also states that the 20-year-old's transfer fee and wage demands continue to be a ‘stumbling block'.

Ed Woodward is refusing to pay Dortmund's €120m asking price as he believes that valuation is ‘unrealistic'.

That hasn't stopped Man United fans from dreaming about the signing though.

On Friday night, ‘Sancho 7' was trending in the UK, as some supporters posted images of their new shirts with – you guessed it – ‘Sancho 7' on the back.

In those tweets, many others were simply boasting about a potential forward line of Sancho, Mason Greenwood, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford. Pretty scary, right?

For now, it seems quite a distant dream, but the fact Man United have kept the No. 7 shirt vacant suggests they are still interested in completing the deal.
