Manchester United ambassador Mikael Silvestre has met up with Zinedine Zidane amid reports linking him with the manager's job at Old Trafford.
Zidane has been again and again linked with the United job and is still a free agent after guiding Real Madrid to a third successive Champions League triumph last season.
Silvestre, who played for United between 1999 and 2008 and is now a club ambassador, questioned if Zidane is the best manager of the year in a picture of the pair of them on his Instagram page.
Former Man U defender Silvestre posted the image from his holiday in Dubai on Instagram along with the caption: “Catching up with some friends and the one and only Zidane. Best 2018 manager?”
Silvestre played with Zidane at the 2004 European Championship and 2006 World Cup, where Zidane played his last professional game in the final.
Bookmakers have Zidane as the second favourite to become the next Man Utd manager – behind frontrunner Pochettino.
“There are so many managers who would love to be the manager of Manchester United – I'm one of them but it's not something we've talked about; they'll do a process for the next six months,” he said.
