Chelsea could be without Edouard Mendy for next weekend's Champions League final against Manchester City after the goalkeeper was forced off at half-time of Sunday's match against Aston Villa.
Kepa Arrizabalaga replaced Mendy at half-time.
Thomas Tuchel confirmed after the match that Mendy has sustained a rib injury.
“It is easy to explain, he fell into the frame of the net,” Tuchel said in his post-match press conference.
“He feels a big pain in his ribs. We will have an update tomorrow with what is going on.
“We will see if it is possible [that Mendy will be fit for the Champions League] and if it is possible, we will push to do everything so he is in goal on Saturday.”
Chelsea are guaranteed to be in the Champions League next season – despite Sunday’s 2-1 loss at Villa Park.
