Mexico Friendly: NFF Invites Tottenham Goalkeeper To Replace Ezenwa

Tottenham’s Hotspur goalkeeper Joshua Oluwayemi has been called upon by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to replace veteran Ikechukwu Ezenwa for the friendly match against Mexico.

According to Footballlive.ng, Oluwayemi will join up with the Nigeria squad for the international friendly match.

It was initially reported by Ojora Babatunde [ojbsport] that the NFF had extended an invitation to the Spurs U23 goalkeeper and it has now been confirmed.

The decision was made after the compilation of the 22-man squad for the friendly.

Oluwayemi’s invitation became necessary after Ezenwa picked up an injury that ruled him out of the July 4 fixture.

The 20 year-old will have to travel from United Kingdom straight to America to join the Super Eagles squad.

Oluwayemi will face serious competition from Enyimba goalkeeper John Noble for a place in the starting lineup against Mexico.
