Mexico vs Ghana Black Stars probable lineups
Mexico
Goalkeeper: Guillermo Ochoa.
Defenders: Kevin Alvarez, Gilberto Sepuvelda, Johan Vazquez, Jesús Angulo.
Midfielders: Edson Alvarez, Orbelin Pineda, Roberto Alvarado, Carlos Rodriguez, Cesar Huerta.
Strikers: Raul Jimenez.
Jaime Lozano's men are expected to line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with Raul Jimenez leading the attack. The former Benfica and Wolves striker bagged a brace in Mexico's 3-3 draw against Uzbekistan last month; he has now scored in his last three appearances for El Tri. Jimenez will likely be a handful for Ghana's defense.
Ghana Black Stars
Goalkeeper: Abdul Manaf Nurudeen.
Defenders: Alexander Djiku, Joseph Aidoo, Nicholas Opoku, Hamidu Fatawu.
Midfielders: Edmund Addo, Iddrisu Baba, Kingsley Schindler, Mohammed Kudus, Ernest Nuamah.
Strikers: Antoine Semenyo.
Likewise, Chris Hughton is expected to adopt a 4-2-3-1 formation with Antoine Semenyo being the sole striker. It's worth keeping an eye out for Mohammed Kudus; as the West Ham player found the back of the net in his last two appearances for the Black Stars.
Mexico vs Ghana Black Stars starting lineups
Starting lineups will be updated shortly after they're released.
Mexico vs Ghana Black Stars head to head
This will be the fourth encounter between these teams. The most recent encounter between these teams was in a friendly match on Thursday 29th June 2017 at the NRG Stadium. The Mexicans came out on top by a lone goal, after Elias Hernandez converted from the spot.
The Ghana Black Stars are currently 0 for 3 against El Tri. It'll be interesting to see if they can get their first win against the Mexicans today.
Mexico vs Ghana Black Stars prediction
Mexico and Ghana have had an interesting run of results in recent months. On one hand, Jaime Lozano's men are coming into this match on the back of two consecutive draws, and are unbeaten in their last five games.
Similarly, the Black Stars are currently on a five-match unbeaten run. Like today's opponents, they have three wins and two draws in that stretch.
This is a friendly match, so there isn't much at stake besides bragging rights. With that in mind, we believe that both teams will get to extend their respective unbeaten runs, with this match ending in a stalemate.
