Mozambique played out a hard-fought 1-1 draw with Angola last Friday. Geny Catamo had put Mozambique ahead in the 70th minute before Angola levelled the scores five minutes from time from a Gelson Ndala strike to ensure stalemates.
The Super Eagles meanwhile played an entertaining 2-2 draw with Saudi Arabia last time out. The Saudis went ahead against the run of play from a Salman Al Faraj goal in the second half, however, Nigeria drew level and and even went ahead from an Abdulelah own goal and a Kelechi Iheanacho beautiful taken goal. Nonetheless, a blunder deep into added time from Uzoho gifted Mohamed Kanno the opportunity to score and ensure Saudi Arabia ended their losing streak.
Super Eagles team news ahead of Mozambique clash
Jose Peseiro will be without two key players: Victor Osimhen and Kelechi Iheanacho. Both players played important roles in the team's last game with Iheanacho scoring after he came on while Osimhen was subbed off due to injury.
Reports say Bright Osayi-Samuel has been picked ahead of Tyronne Ebuehi who started against Saudi Arabia. Bruno Onyemaechi, Semi Ajayi and Calvin Bassey will most likely retain their berth while Jordan Torunarigha will get his debut. It's also possible to see Kenneth Omeruo get a nod ahead of either Ajayi or Bassey.
A decision is yet to be made on who starts in goal after the howler of Uzoho in Super Eagles last game which ensured the 2-2 stalemate.
Okoye, Ojo and Adeleye will continue to push for a place in goal for the team, however, Uzoho could yet start in goal with Peseiro keeping faith in him despite the blunder that proved costly in the last game.
Lastly, Terem Moffi will lead the attack along with Victor Boniface following the absence of Osimhen and Iheanacho.
