Neymar has asked Paris Saint-Germain to sign former Barcelona team-mate Lionel Messi, according to Sky Sports reporter Bryan Swanson.
The 28-year-old has often been linked with a return to Barca.
But the duo could instead be reunited in France if the Brazilian superstar had his way.
And speaking on The Transfer Show, Swanson revealed he had received information that Neymar has told PSG he wants the club to sign the Argentine captain.
However, Swanson doubts if the French Club would be able to complete a deal for Messi.
“I am just told, a short time ago, that Neymar has asked Paris Saint-Germain to sign Messi,” Swanson said.
“No big surprise, they are good friends. Neymar and Messi spoke earlier this week.
“PSG yet to make any approach and they will be mindful of UEFA Financial Fair Play rules, so for that reason I think it would be a big surprise still.
“But Neymar would clearly love him there.”
Manchester City are favourites to sign the 33-year-old if he were to leave the Nou Camp.
