Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that the Old Trafford club still haven’t received a suitable offer for Chris Smalling in the 2020 summer transfer window.
AS Roma, where he has been on a season-long loan, were expected to sign the 30-year-old following his positive impact on the Rome outfit in the 2019-20 campaign
The Red Devils have set an asking price of £20m for the England international, having reduced their valuation from £25m at the start of the summer.
But the Italian top flight are only willing to offer around £12m for the Man United defender, falling some way short of Red Devils’ price tag for their number 12.
Speaking at his post-match media conference on Tuesday night about Smalling’s situation, Solskjaer said: “At the moment, we’ve not had any bids up to the level that we want. So that’s the situation.”
