Old Trafford wannabe Donny van de Beek has been informed by his new boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer that he plans to play him in the No.10 role for Manchester United, according to reports in the Netherlands.
The 23-year-old has now undergone a medical and is on the brink of completing his move to Old Trafford after United and Ajax agreed a £40.3 million deal on Sunday.
According to Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad, Solskjaer had a Facetime conversation with the Netherlands international last Friday and during their talks the United manager told his new signing that he primarily plans to play him in the No.10 role.
The report claims that Solskjaer’s vision and the idea of playing in an advanced midfield role helped convince Van de Beek to make the move to United.
Meanwhile, The Athletic also reports that Solskjaer’s conversation played a major part in helping United secure a deal for the 23-year-old. dutch
A source close to the midfielder told The Athletic: ‘'Every coach can say they want you, but it takes a very special coach to explain exactly why they want you. Ole convinced Donny entirely.’'

Van de Beek will be Solskjaer’s first signing this summer but United are also hopeful of securing a deal for Jadon Sancho as well as a new central defender.
